Brief description of events: The vessel ran aground whilst heading for the Balintang Channel for the Chinese port of Lianyungang. The vessel experienced heavy weather and rough sea state conditions, which reportedly caused a shift of the nickel ore cargo. Salvors SEMCO and T&T Salvage were contracted under a LOF 2011, with the SCOPIC Clause invoked.

Brief description of events: Whilst in transit from Gresik, Indonesia to Ulsan South Korea, the vessel encountered a container fire. The crew sent out a distress call and the Japanese Coast Guard was mobilised to provide assistance to the vessel. Salvors Svitzer were engaged by the Owners to assist in fighting the fire.

Brief description of events: The vessel grounded near buoy 23, whilst entering the port. Dutch based Salvors SMIT were engaged by Owners to assist in refloating the vessel. Approximately 800 tons of cargo was shifted to optimize the refloating conditions. The vessel was refloated on the 20th of February.

Brief description of events: Whilst approaching an emergency anchorage to rectify some technical issues prior to entering Tokyo Bay, the vessel grounded. Japan based Nippon Salvage agreed to enter into a JSE Open Form contract with the Owners. The vessel was safely refloated on the 14th of January.

Brief description of events: The vessel developed a severe list shortly after sailing from Southampton port. Reportedly she was intentionally beached on the Bramble Bank off the Isle of Wight and settled with approximately 52° list to starboard side. The Coastguard rescued 24 crewmembers and a pilot. IJmuiden based Salvors SVITZER signed a LOF contract with the Owners and invoked the SCOPIC Clause.

2014-12-30 - POE GIANT 12
Brief description of events: The barge, loaded with two bulk gentry cranes grounded, near the Horsburgh Lighthouse during the early hours of the 30th of December. Singapore based Salvors Resolve Salvage & Fire were contracted by the Owners to salvage the barge and cranes. However the potential risk of the cranes toppling over and subsequently damaging the lighthouse resulted in a plan to pull the cranes to the seaside by a combination of two powerful tugs and explosives. The controlled demolition was successfully accomplish.
