The casualty, a pipe laying vessel, became involved in a collision with MT “ANTEA” on the 13th of January 2019 and incurred collision damages. The crewmembers decided to abandon and were reportedly rescued on board the MV “ANTEA” shortly afterwards. As a result of water ingress, the casualty lost its stability and subsequently capsized in relative shallow waters, about 10 Nm north of Pulau Bintan, Indonesia. A Salvage Consultant from the GSC Singapore office has been appointed by the H&M Underwriters to assist.
